In my quest to make myself more productive, I've been experimenting with multiple apps over the years and finalized a select few which I intend to review on my blog. I've written about creating new habits, sustaining them, and Goal execution - all of these require us to track ourselves, observe behavior and make tweaks to stay aligned with our goals.
As you look at the examples below, try to identify the common underlying thread:
When a child does something well, we reinforce the behavior with encouragement such as “Great job!” or a tangible reward.
In the workplace, employees who go above and beyond on a project are often recognized through bonuses, raises, or promotions.
If you've see seen someone train their pet, you'd have seen them provide a treat when the pet successfully follows a command
Positive reinforcement is a method of conditioning that encourages a desired behavior. In the context of habits and goals, visual trackers are a great tool for measuring success and motivating you via positive reinforcement.
Habit Tracker is a mobile app that offers a clean, distraction-free interface designed to help you consistently track your execution. If you've been diagnosed with ADHD, this can be a great aid for sustained focus.
Say, your new year resolution is to workout 3 times a week, reduce your screen time and learn a new skill or language. All you have to do is enter these on the app and you can track daily, weekly, monthly or yearly performance.
"Why" this app? (Remember this?)
Clean, distraction-free interface that is well suited for ADHD-diagnosed individuals and anyone who prefers simplicity
Automated Reminders to log your habits for the day
Widgets to see recent performance without opening the app
Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Yearly reports
Share your progress with your accountability partner or friends.
In a nutshell, higher probability of success on your goals.

The app offers a free trial with limited features and their lifetime purchase is very affordable (was $10 when I purchased).
How has this helped me?
I use this app to track my fitness goals, learning goals and moderating my intake of alcohol. I've tried several others and they fell short due to their cluttered interfaces, and unintuitive check-ins. Habit Tracker does a good job of providing a rich feature set on a clean, easy-to-use interface that keeps you motivated.
If you'd like to design your systems with the right tools and improve your productivity, I'd be happy to assist.
